As the seasons change from summer to autumn, I felt that this week’s mantra was quite appropriate. Not only are we transitioning into a new season, a lot of people are going back to school, moving to new environments and meeting new people. Not just young people are experiencing this, but parents are experiencing their little ones growing up. Some have the empty nest syndrome with their baby birds flying away from home, and others are watching their caterpillars grow into beautiful butterflies as they start their first days of school.
No matter the occasion, change is happening everywhere for everyone. Making decisions are always difficult. Whether it is what to do with a fizzled out relationship/friendship, a new job or even as simple as getting a new hairstyle, change is tough. But something important to know is:
” Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – Mark Twain
This week, I’m encouraging you do something you’ve been too scared to do, or putting off for the reason of being upset by change. Your hair will grow back, you will always make new friends and you can always start fresh thanks to tomorrow.
