As an artist and having my own jewelry and home goods line, I really like supporting other people that hand-make things. There are a lot of talented and creative people out in the world and I feel like they deserve to be showcased. There is one person in particular that comes to mind.
Boo and Boo Factory is a line of leather jewelry created by Christina Anton, an architect from Chicago, IL. “The forms, shapes, colours and patterns are all inspired by my training in architecture,” Christina writes on her website booandboofactory.com. “I am always exploring and expressing myself through many disciplines. I love mixing patterns, prints, colour and form. You can see the influence of science, nature and architecture in my work.”
Christina graduated with an architecture degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago and recently finished her masters degree from the Southern California Institute of Architecture. All her pieces are handmade in her studio in Chicago. She specializes in statement necklaces, bold neon earrings and bright coloured bracelets which combine techniques ranging from hand-painted, hand-cut, beaded and woven materials.
