Okay, I may be getting ahead of myself a bit, but today I’d like to share my curated guide to buying everything pumpkin in Ottawa. I’m not just talking about the ever-popular Pumpkin Spice Latte at Starbucks – please. I’ve found all the good stuff for you to explore and try around town. Though most of it consists of food, you won’t be sorry – trust me.
- Marble Slab Creamery: Pumpkin Pie & Pumpkin Cheesecake Ice Cream
Yeah, you read that right. Not one, but two delicious ice cream flavours to try at the Bank Street and Orleans locations.
- Pepperidge Farm Pumpkin Spice Swirl Bread
Rumor has it Target and Walmart may carry this extremely limited edition bread. Stay on the lookout for this low-calorie indulgent that I won’t judge you if you want to eat the entire loaf in one sitting.
- Bath & Body Works: Literally pumpkin everything
When I visited their website I was overwhelmed by pumpkins. You have a giant variety of pumpkin things from soap to car fresheners. See for yourself HERE.
- LUSH – discrete pumpkin
If you really love pumpkin, but don’t want to walk around covered in its dreamy smell (seriously, you’re crazy not to) then the LUSH Handy Gurugu hand lotion may be for you. One of the key ingredients in the intense moisturizer is pumpkin seeds.
- Pinnacle Vodka – Pumpkin Spice Alcohol, what?
That’s right. Pumpkin love isn’t just limited to coffee and goodies anymore. You can spend a night sipping pumpkin cocktails with Pinnacle Vodka. Should be available in most LCBO stores soon!
- Tim Hortons – New pumpkin pie items
In addition to the pumpkin spice flavoured donuts and drinks featured over the last few years, Tim Hortons is diving right into the pumpkin pool and will feature pumpkin pie donuts (with real pie filling), ice caps, lattes and even bagels to complement their fall menu. This could hit stores any day now, get excited!
- Lärabar – Pumpkin Pie Flavour
The popular energy bar has a tasty and healthy pumpkin pie bar packed with 10g of protein. Pick them up at most grocery stores this fall including Sobeys and Loblaws.
- Presidents Choice – Pumpkin Pie Ice Cream
I’ve always been extremely pleased with everything PC comes out with. I am headed out as soon as I’m done typing to grab some of this. Available at all PC locations: Loblaws, Independent, Valu Mart, etc.
- Green Mountain Coffee – Pumpkin Spice K Cups
If you don’t want to cough up the cash for a coffee shop brew, make your own at home with your Keurig system. Available anywhere you buy your groceries.
- Starbucks – Pumpkin Spice Latte & Frap
At the end of the day, Starbucks’ PSLs are a seasonal tradition. I love them along with a gazillion other people. If you’re sick of the warm beverage, try it as a Frappuccino, just as delicious but icy cold.
This is a very early “guide.” Once local businesses catch up with my autumn/pumpkin obsession I will try to make an updated post. Lots of food features, but who doesn’t like an excuse to stuff their face?
